About Larisa Lein

Larisa Lein’s career began in academia at the University of Moscow, where she started preparing for her career in healthcare. Here, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and later earned her Master of Science in Civil Engineering. Later, after traveling to the United States, she returned to education at St. Vincent’s College. At the Massachusetts-based institution, she earned her Certification of Ultrasound Technology.
After graduating, Larisa joined the team at Dr. Z Steremberg M.D Cardiology as an EchoCardiologist, performing echocardiograms, TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography), and stress-echo. After a few years with the team, Larisa moved from her position with Dr. Steremberg to join the team at Connecticut Heart and Vascular Center, where she worked as an EchoCardiographer. In this role, she performed echocardiograms and contrast studies while gaining valuable knowledge of ultrasound equipment.
Larisa Lain worked as an Ultrasound Technologist for more than a decade, during which time she partnered with R.D. Russo and Associates Radiology, where she served as the Director of EchoLab for four years. She then joined Yale New Haven Health, serving in the Hospital’s Outpatient Radiology department, continuing her work as an Ultrasound Technologist.
Then, in 2019, she joined her current employer at Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts in a role as a Lab and Didactic Instructor. After a few months in that role, she stepped into her current position as the Program Director for the Academy.
Throughout her career in healthcare, Larisa Lein has distinguished herself through education, training, and certifications. She is RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) Certified, RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) Certified for Breasts and Abdomen, and RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) Certified; additionally, she has her BLS (Basic Life Support), CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) certification. Larisa also has proficiency in PenRad, Epic, Synapse, Microsoft Office, and RIS/PACS.
Alongside her professional skills in ultrasound and radiology, she is also a polyglot who is fluent in English, Russian, and has a working knowledge of Spanish. In her personal time, Larisa loves to travel, dance, and enjoy her life with her family.
